“Your sins have separated you from your God.” (Isaiah 59:2)
Judging from the above this is serious. We need saving. We have all done some bad stuff in our lives. I mean that’s why you are here looking at this page isn’t it? You know you’ve done wrong and you are desperate for forgiveness, you want to be made right again.
You know that bad stuff, the Bible calls it sin, it ruins more than just your relationships with those around you, it separates you from God and strains your relationship with Him – makes Him feel so far away and out of reach doesn’t it?
But while He may seem far away right now, He is actually closer than you think – He made a way to bridge that gap, restore the relationship, and most importantly give you forgiveness. The Bible calls this “salvation” – it means you are forgiven of the bad stuff you have done and made new, but also saved from the punishment for your sin – which is eternal separation from God in hell (heavy I know, but that’s the truth of the matter.)
But God can forgive you for the bad stuff you have done. How though? Well God came to earth as Jesus Christ and took the punishment for your sin on Himself when He died on the cross. He then defeated the power of sin and death when He rose from the dead. Why? Because He loves you. And all we have to do is believe in Him, His atoning death, and His resurrection.
Look at what the Bible says about being saved and forgiven:
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.” (Romans 3:23-25 NLT)
“Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say. He was buried, and three days later He was raised to life, as the Scriptures say. Christ appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After this, He appeared to more than five hundred other followers.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-5 CEV)
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13 NKJV)
Do you want to be saved?
If you are convinced that you are a sinner and believe that Christ died for you, you can now receive Him as your personal Saviour by praying this prayer:
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and have broken Your holy laws and come short of Your glory. Thank You for loving me and for sending Your Son Jesus into the world to save me. Today I turn to You and receive Your offer of salvation. Jesus, I accept You as my personal Saviour and Lord. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to life on the third day as the Bible testifies. Please wash away all my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. Holy Spirit, I invite You to come into my heart and take control of my life. Transform me from within and make me holy and set apart to God. By Your power make me a bold witness of Jesus Christ. Amen.
